Frontrunner in Aadhaar Project
4.05 Cr of UID generated out of 4.5 Cr residents enrolled so far. 40% of the total population covered in Phase I and II so far.
First state to implement SRDH, followed by innovative usages of it including SMS and Web based Self seeding, resulting in usage by departments for delivering citizen centric services
Financial Inclusion - 6 districts have been selected by UIDAI for financial inclusion namely Mumbai (City and Suburban), Pune, Amravati, Nandurbar and Wardha.
Dilasa Project - Pilot project has been successfully completed for linking UID with beneficiaries of Old Age Pension Schemes and payments have been made into the bank accounts with UID linked authentication
Wardha has completed 90% seeding with various departmental databases like PDS, MNREGA, SGNY, Old Age Pension, Scholarship, LPG, Kerosene schemes, etc.
Pilot has been conducted in Mantralaya for linking UID with the payroll and biometric data for all employees in Mantralaya. More than 4000 employees UID data linked with Biometric and Sevarth
Won the Excellence Award for UID implementation and SRDH rollout in the Country from Hon. Prime Minister at Dudu, Jaipur
Recent Initiatives

Aadhaar Enrolments in Maharashtra
Directorate of Information Technology (DIT) was appointed as the Nodal Agency and Phase I of enrolment was simultaneously carried out in all districts and municipal corporations in the State and 3,69,31,089 enrolments were done (by State Govt. only) and 3,53,92,341 UID generated (through State Govt.). Total enrolment including Non State Registrars is in excess of 4 Cr.
13 enrolment agencies were appointed in Phase I through an open tender amongst the UID empanelled agencies.
DIT appointed 10 enrolment agencies for Phase II through a tendering process, which was completed in record time.
Till date 18,68,695 enrolments done in Phase II (through State Govt.)
Nearly 1,500 kits (through State Govt.) are active in Phase II, which is the highest in the country
State Resident Data Hub
Maharashtra is the only state to have a full-fledged live SRDH with nearly 3 Cr. data
Maharashtra Govt. has developed a Self seeding module wherein any resident can seed his data related to PDS, NREGA, Driving License etc. either through SMS or through Web. This is the first example of real use of SRDH in the country, and the source code has been shared with UIDAI for replication in other States
Maharashtra Govt. has developed Web services through which dept. applications can access the SRDH data, which is being presently tested by Registration and Sales Tax depts.
UID linked Services and Pilot Projects
Data seeding exercise has been recently done on pilot in Tembli village in Nandurbar district and the learning from the same shall be documented and used in the State
Pilot project completed for payment to multiple bank accounts (BoI, Union Bank and Bank of Maharashtra) by specifying only the UID number
Dilasa Pilot project done in Aurangabad district
Pilot project for linking of UID with Sevarth is underway. In Mantralaya, this has been linked with Biometric as well. Linking for 5000 employees (either EID or UID) is done at Mantralaya
UID has been made mandatory for teachers and students from the next academic session for the school to receive grant
The Hon. Chief Minister has recently announced that UID shall be mandatory for all driving licenses
Housing Dept. has issued instructions for use of UID for availing of housing schemes in Mumbai region
GIS linked Pilot to be started in Deoli taluka in Wardha and Colaba area of Mumbai. House to house survey to be done to map households with UID and other dept. data like Ration card, Election Voter List etc.
Financial Inclusion Initiatives in Maharashtra
Six Districts of Maharashtra (Mumbai City, Mumbai suburban, Pune, Nandurbar, Amravati and Wardha) have been selected for implementation of Aadhaar linked Financial Inclusion as per Hon’ble Union Finance Minister’s Budget Speech.
Aadhaar enrolment is in full swing in these districts, which the enrolment reaching more than 80% in Wardha district
The State Govt. is aiming at making Wardha a fully financially included district and is in the process of issuing guidelines on incentives to ASHA and Anganwadi workers (Rs.10 per bank account opened) for helping women members of the household in opening bank accounts.
The State Govt. is also planning to provide incentive to Wardha district for holding camps for opening of UID linked bank accounts and data seeding in the districts
Meeting was held on 2nd Aug under the Chairmanship of Chairmanship of Chief Secretary with all leading banks. Banks have been asked to focus on FI and ensure that all residents above 18 get bank accounts
Women and Child Department has been asked to hold Mahila Melavas, wherein camps will be held to enroll women for UID and UID enabled Bank Accounts
GR regarding mandatory payment of benefits into bank accounts in the FI districts have been put up by Finance dept. (Secy. Accounts and Treasuries) for approval of CS, Hon. Dy. CM and Hon. CM
